This is wedding program idea I am playing around with. Thought it would be cool to do a different kind of program.

Wedding program I designed for a friend of a friend. They bought the paper and had them printed at Office Depot, a cheap and easy way to go.

Metz, France

My work was also in Metz, France in a gallery called Atelier Mondes Deux Gallery. I was very honored to hear that my post card made it into the show. Above you can see the actual post card and below that you can see it in the photograph if you look hard.

Mississippi Collegiate Art Competition

Currently one of my design pieces (shown above) was selected for the MCAC and is displaying in the Lewis Art Gallery at Millsaps College. I did not win a prize but was very honored that one of my pieces was selected out of hundreds to be in the show.

Artist Statement

Design is what interests me the most. I like having the ability to sit down and let all of my thoughts pour out on what I am thinking for a certain topic. I like being able to create a cool piece of design from a blank canvas. Being able to create an idea for someone has always thrilled me and getting to see his or her expression for the final product is a lot of fun. Even though I am highly interested in design, my creative process is what helps me come up with more ideas.
My creative process consists of first brainstorming for ideas. I will think of a few ideas and sketch them into a sketchbook and before I know it, my ideas have evolved into a totally different idea. If that idea works, then I run with it and begin developing something that will impress my client.
As a designer I always think about my client's best interests. I care about them and what type of design they are looking for. I will draw up ten designs if they need me to just to make sure that they are satisfied with what they getting. I want to make sure that they are not just settling for something they do not like.
Knowing that my clients are satisfied with the outcome of their design is very important to me. I want to develop a reputation of being a designer who cares for her clients and will do whatever it takes to make them happy. Working in a creative and collaborative environment is also important. Ideas seem to come easier when I am in the right atmosphere for a certain job.
When I work on many designs at one time I make sure to allot enough time for each project and also make sure I meet the deadline for each one. One thing that helps me out with this is that I am very organized. I make sure to have a folder for every project with all of the necessary files in it. Also I tend to color coordinate my files so that there is no misunderstanding of what file goes with what project.
One major goal I have is to one day be the art director or graphic designer of a magazine. I appreciate the time and patience it takes to work for such a production and meeting every deadline even when clients and freelance artists don't get the work in until the last minute. I want to produce something that interests people but also that entertains and helps them out in some way.
I am very organized and deadline oriented. I have never missed a deadline or misplaced a project. I am flexible in that I can work on multiple projects at the same time without stress of getting them done. I am also willing to learn. If I don't know how to do something, I will try my hardest to find out how to accomplish the task.
With having a creative process, looking after my client's best interests and knowing that they are satisfied, being organized, and having a long-term goal, I feel that graphic design is where I need to be. It is the only type of work that when I wake up in the morning I am ready to go, start the day, and see what I can come up with next.
